Mihael Hribar was born on April 14th, 1954 in Zagreb. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb and passed his bar exam in Zagreb. He worked in the law office of Andrej Ogrizek and Jozo Radovčić as a trainee. He founded his own law practice together with Miljenko Bahat.
During the Home War, he was the head of the Refugee Accommodation Department within the Office for Refugees of the Croatian Government. He acted as a volunteer in this position. He was also a legal advisor for GTZ (The German Organisation for Technical Cooperation) program – program implemented by the German Government aiming at the construction and adaptation of the facilities which are to be intended for the refugees accommodation.
He was the president of the Board for the first Croatian private insurance company Osiguranje Helios d.d. from 1994 to 2003. He was a Supervisory Board member for Hrvatski nuklearni POOL and Croatian Insurance Bureau. Apart from the mentioned, he was the president of the Supervisory Board for Helios Pension joint stock company for mandatory pension fund management. Currently, he is the president of the Association of Traffic Accident Casualties.
